Velotastic is owned and run by Paul Gregory. An avid cyclist for as long as he can remember, Paul is mad about bikes, to the extent that he and his family think that a trip to Belgium is a pilgrimage and not a holiday.
Velotastic is born. Paul buys an old Mercier bike and struggles to get parts for it. He starts buying parts from abroad and sells the bits he does not need online.
After filling his loft and garage full of bits and having not seen his dining room table for a few months, Paul moves Velotastic into a business premises. We also start importing new parts and accessories from businesses in the US and Europe.
Velotastic comes up with a cunning plan to design and have produced a Yorkshire themed jersey and cap. These prove to be popular with both pro and amateur riders with a soft spot for God's own.
We take the show on the road and exhibit at Eroica Britannia and the Chiltern Cycling festival.
Velotastic out grows it's existing premises so we move across Chesterfield to an office in a lovely old building that used to be used by a local coal and steel magnate.
Paul gets his Cytech qualification to back up years of bike fettling and we open a workshop repairing and servicing bikes.
We decide to share our love for some of our local roads and trails by organising the Hardcore100 reliability ride
The Hardcore100 is a roaring success and a pleasure to do, so we decide to run another event the Brutal Tootle
As well as running some more cycling events, we get our British Cycling Level 2 MTB Leadership qualification.
The pandemic hits, but we successfully switch over to running some virtual events, plus our online sales go from strength to strength.
As lockdown eases, we start offering guided gravel rides in the Peak District.
We launch the Velotastic Riders Club.
